According to the World Bank's Worldwide Governance Indicators, Myanmar is below the 10th percentile for every indicator except for Political Stability, for which it is between the 10th and 20th percentiles.
Myanmar’s economic freedom score is 38.7, making its economy the 173rd freest in the 2012 Index. Its score is 0.9 point better than last year, mainly due to improvements in monetary freedom and property rights. Myanmar is ranked 40th out of 41 countries in the Asia–Pacific region, and its overall score is much lower than the regional average.
