Special Alert System keeps you informed about new opportunities on your interest areas
Special Alerts, also called Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) service, is a
sophisticated suit of software that stores your interest profile and then matches it
against all incoming new opportunities such as overseas import trade leads, agency and
distribution opportunities in India and abroad, Indian tenders, global tenders, new
projects, business news etc. Information about all new opportunities that match your
interest profile are summarized in an e-mail and sent to you.
How Does Special Alert Help my Business ?
infobanc.com adds hundreds of new opportunities in its ever increasing
repository of information everyday. The information
overload is so high that you might miss a new opportunity that is vital for your
business. Special Alert service makes sure that you receive information through e-mail
everyday about all new opportunities that match your interest areas. This will save
your time as well as ensure that you do not miss out on new opportunities.
How Do I Set-Up Special Alert Service
Special Alert is a Membership Service, that any member (paid or free) can use.
To set Special Alert, please log-in to Members' Control Panel and visit
'My Details' - 'Set Alert Profile'.
First step in setting up Special Alert Service is to create your interest profile.
The system will use your interest profile to screen all new opportunities and
inform you about those matching your interest profile.
Interest Profile is created in three steps
-
First, please specify the opportunity types that you are interested
in (e.g. import trade leads, tenders etc.).
-
In Second step - please select your interest areas in terms of
product categories. If you do not specify any product category in
'My Interest Areas' section - the system will pick-up the product categories
you have selected in your company profile section
-
You have the option of selecting ALL product categories by clicking
"All Product Categories' box. This action will result in storing ALL
product categories in your Interest profile. You should then set-up Keywords to filter out
unwanted opportunities, otherwise you will receive bulky e-mail containing
information on large number of new opportunities.
-
In final step, you select the 'Keywords' that title of a new
opportunity must match. If you have selected one or more 'Product Categories'
under 'Interest Areas' section, then new opportunities must match one of your
'Interest Areas' AS WELL AS at least one of your selected Keywords.
-
You have the option of 'NOT' using keyword match option by selecting
'Do not Match Keywords' box.
Please Explain with an Example
Let us say, your company is a manufacturer of 'hexagonal nuts' and you are interested
in new opportunity types 'Import Trade Leads' and 'Tenders'.
In first step, please click boxes against 'Buy / Import Trade Leads' and
'Tenders' in 'Send Special Alert for' section.
In second step, please select 'Fasteners' as 'Product Category 1' under 'My Interest
Areas' section. You may leave other product categories as blank.
In third step, you may use 'Hexagonal Nuts' as keyword under 'Match Following Keywords'
section. However, this action will mean only those opportunities that have the product
category 'Fasteners' and contain the keyword 'Hexagonal Nuts' in title section will match your
Interest Profile. Alternatively, you may select 'Do Not Match Keywords' option, which
will make all new opportunities on fasteners (e.g. nuts, bolts, washers, rivets etc.)
match your Interest Profile.
What - If I do not Want to Receive any Trade Alert ?
Simple - please click on 'Do not Send me Special Alert' box.
Can I Change my Interest Profile ?
As many times as you like - there's no restriction whatsoever !
What If I want to Receive information on all New Opportunities ?
Select 'All Product Categories' under 'My Interest Areas' section and select
'Do not match Keyword' under 'Match Following Keywords' section. However, you will receive
bulky e-mails that may fill your mailbox fast ! Also, your mail service provider may
filter out such bulky e-mail, thinking this to be spam.
I am not Receiving Any Special Alert
Check your Interest Profile, specially 'Match Following Keywords' section. Your
Interest Profile may be too specific. Select 'Do not Match Keywords' option.
Also, check your mailbox. Your mailbox could be full or your mail service
provider may be filtering out our e-mails.
